Hi,
I enjoyed the video, too. I have the RAK-7 and I have been casually
looking for a RAL to go with it. When I was in Jr high school I had a
couple of beginner kits and a home brew 6SN7 attempt at regenerative
shortwave (and ham) receivers. They kinda sorta worked but were pretty
'miserable' to operate. The regens are pretty badly dissed... even in
the 50s handbooks. I learned a lot from those but considered them pretty
much useless. A number of years passed and I was interested in a
receiver that would receive the LORAN signals so that I could display
them on a scope. I was pleasantly surprised by the RAK! The RAK and
hopefully a RAL will be part of my 'estate sale' along with the DX-100
when the time comes. Other gear has come and gone but those are staying.
They're just too much fun to play with.
Maybe somebody has a RAL and would trade for a Heath Apache...

Bill KU8H
