[Milsurplus] What's This?

These clearly appear to be HF receivers with built in panadaptors, not
radar - so most likely intercept gear of some sort - Less likely to be
test gear because a) you'd just use an HP commercial spectrum analyzer
and/or b) you wouldn't build a scope into each unit but would make
something with one scope and multiple RF heads.
I've been trying to figure them out too - they don't match anything I
can find in the books I have. Actually I am thinking not Navy - it
looks like there is part of a red eagle acceptance stamp overlaid on
the area where the ID plates are missing and that seems more Army,
USAF, or AFSAV (NSA)?? Navy guys like to stamp things with anchors...
But I'll probably find out they were specials built for a Navy COMMSTA
and will kick myself forever for not buying them!
cheers, Nick
