ZC1 problem

Just been working on a ZC1 set. Found an open coil on one of the ift's,
luckily after I took it apart and opened up the can it was just a wire off
the connection, resoldered and the rx is now working fine.

I then looked at the tx. First I could get no NET operation. I reduced the
dropping R a bit and the NET then worked, I was indeed getting RF out,
around 1.5W into my dummy load. I was trying to get the tx tuning scale in
line with the rx so was adjusting the vfo trimmer, even at its max I could not
get the dial down far enough, with the rx dial at 3.6 the tx dial was at
3.5. So, I added a small C across the trimmer and it started to work then it
just stopped and now there's no vfo either on NET or TX. I can only assume
either the anode or screen R has gone open or high or the screen bypass C
is s/c.

But, here's the question, how do you get the vfo/buffer unit out to get
access to these components? Looking at it, it looks like there's lots of
nuts and bolts in the way.

Would anyone know just what's involved in getting the rf deck out?

cheers, Ben.
