Can anyone identify this?
German microphone built by "Junker". Has a "cup" or ring that fits onto
one's
chin. The cup has a short extension which supports a small round microphone
about 2 cm
diameter, at approximately the upper lip position and about 3-4 cm from the
lip. The cup
at each side has a single elastic strap that goes to an earphone ring - ring
only - a metal
ring around 5-6 cm diameter - no earphone whatever. 2 elastic straps go
from one
ring over the top of head and join then to the other ring over the other
ear. The cord
from the microphone looks around 2 meters long - have not actually unrolled
it to
measure - and is terminated in a 3 prong inline banana plug - this marked
"Junker DRGM". What is this thing? Panzer and - I believe - aircrew used
only
throat mic - so is this some kind of Flak crew set - or Navy "deck talker" ?
Thanks - Hue Miller
