In addition to 126.18 there was 121.5.
I also used 137.88 and 140.59.  Very
common on the 522's for ATC and DF.
I operated many BC-639's and BC-640's.
Never heard of a frequency problem.
It's said that the reason ATC is hanging on
to AM is that the receiver bandwidth will
hear signals that FM or SSB wouldn't.
But Army uses FM, and I haven't heard
any complaints.
