What other weapon would you suggest air crew carry, especially if they have
to bail out in unfriendly territory?  I'd think it was standard issue for
air crews no matter where they were flying.  I know Navy air crews did
during WW II even when flying over the Bonny Blue Pacific.

So where's the problem?
