Hi:
I have been reading about people looking for connectors for some of these Chinese
receivers and transmitters that are appearing on the market.
Our NGO has been dealing with a company in Taiwan who makes a lot of these mil spec
connectors and sells them in China and in the rest of the world (they are also the
contract OEM for a lot of the US supplied connectors). We only buy a very small quantity
of the connectors we need via the sample route. While they would prefer to get an order
from you for 10,000 or more units, they will sell you engineering samples (1-2) via a
credit card. The shipping is not that bad.
The contact person is Emily Chang and she is very nice to deal with. Her email is:
emily at plt.com.tw and you can also visit their web site and download a PDF catalog file (do
not use a dial-up connection!) with all their connectors shown. If you do not see what you
want, send them a JPG picture (which is what we did) and they can research it for you.
What you may want is no a production item but they may have it on the shelf somewhere deep
in the warehouse.
If you need other sources, drop me a note. I have a few more possible Chinese suppliers
and I will be going to the large Chinese Telecom show held in Beijing (10/2010) and I can
look for more vendors if you need one. This is a telecom conference like no other. Amazing
variety of technology.
I hope this helps.
Kevin
