Good grief! What a silly and sad thing to do to this radio.
It works just fine on 40 mtrs by doubling in the final,
and I've made lots of contacts on mine with it.
Can we get more details?
Photos of what's been done?
Robert Downs has the manual and I think the
"Repair Instructions." These are invaluable.
One quick caution: Do not ground the receiver B-.
If you do, the audio output transformer primary will
instantly blow open. If this has already happened
(and it usually has when they've been messed with),
there are ways to work-around.
