Wes,

I don't think anyone said that AN/GRC-13 was WW-II vintage. Al (I think it
was) said that it was the replacement for the TBX. It was also to replace
the SCR-284, which the Marines also used in the Pacific toward the end of
the War.

The AN/GRC-14, at least based on manual dates, came out more than four
years after the AN/GRC-19. In the WW-II sets, a similar example is that SCR-506
came out about two years after SCR-508 (not the same competitor aspect, of
course).

Anyway, the manual I have on AN/GRC-13 is dated 09/07/49. The earliest
AN/GRC-9 manual I've seen is dated 06/25/46.
