In the SCR-274-N, it also has to select Tx 1 which is the default
location of the VHF transmitter.

This would be the same as the SCR-522.  As I recall, that wqas a plain
unmodulated carrier.

>From what I've seen it was only used in Europe for DF and/or IFF
purposes.  Of course, I've been known to be wrong before.  Although I
may be mistaken about that.  :-)
