I have a couple of original beaded jumpers/leads that were used
on the Command Sets. The wire is the same as that used
for the trailing antennas- stiff CopperWeld. Though I don't have
them handy to measure, they certainly weren't 10-ga.
Smaller... more like 14.
The hard part of making a replica is the special washer
soldered on the ends of the leads to hold the beads in place.
Imagine a "fender washer" of the usual, "hardware store"
thickness, made of tinned brass or something similar.
It's the same diameter as the beads.
The center is drilled with a hole the size of the CopperWeld-
about #14. This is placed over the end of the bead string with
the beads tight and soldered into place with a nice, rounded
solder "dome." The end of the wire is then bent to insert
in the binding post.
Wish I could find it so I could post a photo,
but you likely get the idea.
I've found washers of the right diameter, but not with that
small hole in the middle.
