I believe strongly that it is. But then, I've always had
a soft spot for the RT-196. It is an amazing piece of
technology for its era, almost 60 years ago. I last saw a
Marine using one in mid-1972. It's not too hard to put
on the air, though admittedly it's not very practical today.
But what things that we discuss on this list are?
For many, the history has no value. I'm the opposite.
The history means more than the hardware.
I do not buy any surplus with the notion that it will
be anything other than a fiscal loss to me. I suspect
most of what I own will wind up in a landfill, but I
will have enjoyed owning it.
