Jeff,
I think you will find, if you look at the nameplate again, that it is
TDA-2. AKA TS-917/GG or TS-1060/GG.
Quoting from the Stelma instruction book, the TDA-2 can be jacked into the
line and used to measure distortion in 20 or 60 mA neutral and 30 mA polar
circuits running (depending upon the specific model you have) 60, 65, 66, 75
and 100 wpm (the 65 may be a typo). Types of distortion measured are:
Bias (spacing and marking)
Characteristic
Fortuitous
End (spacing and marking)
Peak
Mechanical
You can use it to detect and ID bad segments or cams/contacts in TD's and
keyboards, adjust repeaters, check various machines, and etc.
I have several of them, a mix ot TDA-2's, TS-917's or TS-1060's, if anyone
needs one. Reprint of the TDA-2 manual $10.00 plus shipping. I also have a
NAVSHIPS and a TM 11 that I could scan if needed.
