Hello,
I'm on the board of the Air Force Radar Museum Association, and as we
plan for the creation of a real, hands-on museum illustrating our
mission of Cold War air defenses, we're starting to look for radar
components which would be applicable for inclusion in our museum.
None of the pieces need to be operable.
Things we're interested in would be:
Operations plotting boards
PPI/HRI scopes
Various examples of unique transmitter tubes (Maggies, Klystrons, etc.)
- I personally would like to get my hands on an example of the gigantic
Litton klystron from the BMEWS transmitters, along with a piece of
waveguide and one of the pulse-forming network capacitors.
Test equipment - Tektronics o'scope, PSM-6, RF oscillators, etc.
Long range search, height finder or gap-filler antenna components
Any SAGE components
Any other pieces that would help to illustrate the Cold War period North
American (and other) air defense radar mission.
If you have leads to any of this equipment, please let us know.
Thanks in advance,
Gene
