I am looking for some brown (2.82-4.0 Mhz), orange (4.0-5.66 Mhz), and red (5.66-8.0 Mhz) xmtr/rcvr filter sets for the Spilsbury SBX-11A. This is a very simple to use xtal controlled 4 channel. 2 to 10 Mhz, 8 to 10 Watts portable radio set used in the Canadian bush, the Arctic and in the Antarctic on expeditions. The may be the ultimate QRP go radio. The commercial radio is made for USB, but buy ordering the right xtals (subtracting 456.5) and a little tweaking, the SBX-11 and SBX-11A can be set up for LSB. The sets are not designed for CW operation. Spilsbury stopped production in 1999, but the little green (SBX-11) or red-orange (SBX-11A) radio sets continue to march on in service to the native peoples of Canada, with mining and forrestry industries, and on expeditions world wide. For those unfamilar with the radio set, I susggest you check out the yahoo groups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SBX-11 page, or Matthew Kendall's excellent website: http://www.matthewkendall.com/electronics/sbx-11a. There is also a fellow on youtube who has a SBX-11 video. From time to time these radio sets come available on ebay. Be careful when obtaining one, as some radios are set up for one or two channels and obtaining the additional xmtr/rcvr filter sets are hard to come by. The filters can be rebuilt and rewound, but that can be a challenge. xtals can be still be obtained from International Crystal Manufacturing http://www.icmfg.com. The cost is about 20 dollars each. For for channels you would need eight.

Thanks and 73's
