[Milsurplus] Beam Filter Info

I think thats right. It requires a 6 ohm spkr and the phones output is across a 27 ohm resistor thats across the output of the audio trans. I don't know if that translates into the values you mention. The filter does work very nicely even at the 1020 cy output and there is plenty of audio in the cans. Breck, K4CHE, gave me a link to all you ever wanted to know about these filters. So I'm set to modify if I want to or use as is (prefered) .

Thanks Bob and Breck for the info...73 de Bill K4JYS

Bill,

Doesn't the HQ-150 have Low-Z output?  Depending upon vintage and service, that meant either 250 ohm or 500/600 ohm.  Which the Navy filter would match.  Hi-Z means 4000 ohms or higher.  Usually 4000 for receivers and 7000/8000 for audio accessories.

Tnx for that info. It seems to be quite usable as is and doesn't reduce the audio very much (at least on the HQ-150)...Bill

Bill,

If it's the NAF-68304 I think it's Low-Z, so electrically equivalent to the
FL-30 (FL-5 and FL-8 are Hi-Z).  Performance is about the same, though.
