BC-983-A is the modulator for the SCR-527  a WWII 200 Mhz. Ground Control 
Intercept radar set.  This was the U.S. redesign of the SCR-588 built for 
the Brits during the war.  I would guess that it is quite heavy.
The TG-10-F probably has a nice case (if you got the case) otherwise not 
much good without the tape reading mechanics.
