Bob,

The VT-225s show up on the e-place from time to time. Uncommon type
though. Might be possible to substitute 2E22s but these aren't
common either (or cheap!).

The mating connector used by the Signal Corps was a Cannon P8-23 with
a female insert (TM 11-275, 24 Jan 44). Cast aluminum, heavy duty
type with a large clamp to accommodate the original cable used with
Cord CD-501-A. Cannon offered numerous other P8 types with variations
in shell material, finish, gland/cable clamping types and sizes. A
P8-11, for example had a die-cast zinc shell, cadmium plating and a
compression gland for 1/2 inch or smaller cable according to Radio's
Master, 1944. These other types will mate OK with the socket on the
front of the BC-654 BTW. William Perry may be able to help you here,
telephone 502-893-8724.

Good luck.
