The last 2 flyable Martin Mars were based in Port Alberni(?), Vancouver Island, BC. I saw them there in 1978. had them pulled up out of the water on the beach. They'd tank up while skimming along Sproat Lake in a matter of seconds. Those pilots were bona-fide Aviators............whatta ride!

Recently retired w/in the past 3-5 years, IIRC.
