I had one of those beasts running in the early 1970s.  Kept it in the
garage, mostly because of all the audible noise from a 400 Hz inverter
I used with it.  I built AC power supplies for all the needs, rather
than running the dynamotor.

In my experience it took several hours of maintenance for every hour
of operation, and eventually I either couldn't fix it or lost interest
in trying to.  Fairly recently I sent a lot of the parts to another ham
who is trying to get one running.
