That is correct. I made up my batteries by taping together 5 x 9V 
batteries x2 and using RS battery snaps wired in series and tapped at 
45V and 3 x AAA in RS holders in series and 4 x D in RS holders in 
parallel.It all tucks in nicely with a bit of small size bubble wrap it 
won't rattle much.The batteries have last quite a long time as the 
PRC-6's get used only once a year at MRCG.

I need a socket to make up a battery looks to me like a 7 pin mini tube
socket am I right I cant remember been awhile since I had one of thease
