[Milsurplus] ART 13 change over relay

Hi:
My Shelby Hamfest  acquired ART 13  is close to completion.  My home made power supply is huge and heavy but can do the job.
My question is: what is the tradional way to flip the antenna from the transmitter to the receiver and vice versa?  My guess is to use a relay wired to the primary of the plate supply transformer to control an antenna relay and mute contacts.  Is that about right?  The mating receiver will be a HQ 170, R 388 or possibly a Heathkit Mohawk.
How did Uncle Sam do it in an aircraft back in the bad old days?
