Aircraft spruce plywood is still available from aircraft suppliers and hobby 
dealers,
It is a rugged multi-layered plywood I've used it on numerous display 
projects to make battery boxes, loop antenna mounts. etc

| "marine plywood"  but I don't know if it is still available.
