Anyone know what the case of the Navy portable DAV transceiver is made of? It almost appears to be wood but have no idea how it can be. There are no signs of joints or anything else so would suspect it is some form of molded material and being that it's sixty plus year's old and still holding up that's impressive.  Every DAV I have seen has a green case built from this mystery material. The MAB, the non direction finding version of the radio has what appears to be a black Bakelite cast and wondering if the DAV is a green variant of this.
