 G'day list

For those who want to add some respectability to the rejuvenation of
a BC- 348 by adding a dynamotor and not paying a $228 price for a DM 28, I
suggest the following...... Bendix and others possibly, have an identical
sized and V outputted model - the DA-1 but the disadvantage is the negative
HT brush is ground. It's also rated at 100mA- good. All models of BC-348
need HT minus available for bias on audio stage or mixer. Mods can be made
but that's not the point.
Have a scratch around for a Bendix or Eicor with unusable V but similar
sizes and you will find that the brush holders -the insulated ones are
identical to the one that is grounded. If you've read so far, pulling the
dynos apart is not a big deal as is loosening the grubscrews and slipping
out the holder. Add a wire to the holder and the negative is ungrounded- 4
wires out the bottom.
Of course if you're keen and committed, making a filter box to mount the
dyno isn't difficult either.
Maybe others have gone this way earlier but I've not read of it.
Cheers
