They were called Map Generators, and the sweep on
the tube behind the slide or picture was synched to the
sweep on the radar scopes.  The video pick up was a
multiplier tube.  I used them with CPN-18 and CPS-5.
I  wonder how much technology advanced  in  the  years
since my 48 year old daughter was born  on  Okinawa?
TRIVIA:  B&K sold a TV alignment signal generator
in the 70's something like that.  Used 4x5 camera film
negatives or pictures.
