I give the new local hams to be a course on EMC once a year and always 
start by showing Jimmy Hatlo's, "They'll do it every time" depicting all 
the neighbors talking over the fence about how their electronic consumer 
products are acting in ways not designed. We had a local a.m. broadcast 
station turning on gas ranges from a well known manufacturer at random. 
A line filter easily cleared the problem but just recently that same 
station has gone to a.m. and no more problems.
