[Milsurplus] BC-654 sightings...

Saw these to me interesting small variations in BC-654's  recently:
-sn 1648 dated 1942 with the AVC ON/ OFF toggle switch below
the tuning knob. Never saw this before.
-sn 55000+ with a receiver tuning knob made from a standard 
skirted knob, with the spinner tip loosely attached to a sheet metal
arm, which was screwed to the top of the skirted knob. Possibly 
manufacturer ran out of the regular spinner knobs but needed to
keep the production line going.
-a ham-modified set with the receiver retuned and dial relabeled
to tune 3200 - 4280 kc/s.  Nice job.  Transmitter actual new
frequency range was not apparent.
