specified mount which is sort of wedge shaped and, from the pics I've
seen, is bolted to the lower rear corners of the vehicle. The whole
thing looks like it's made from hefty angle iron, I just don't know
how hefty or how long it is.
The idea is to create something I can use to bolt to the corners while
allowing about 1/2" clearance so the tonneau can be removed and to
which I can attach antenna mounts, though more like the MP-65 or
something that will act like one. (The AB-15's a bit wimpy for a 15'
whip.)
I'm not sure if any viable alternatives exist though I'm always open
for suggestions. The rear corners aren't like a military Jeep's
though they're close. The state of Hawaii seems to get all upset
about lights & license plates being obstructed and they consider
something even as small as a whip to be an obstruction. The tailgate
offers further issues (though I have been tempted to install both
mounts on the corners of the tailgate) which only serve to make me
quite glad I'm already certified nuts.
Any thoughts?
