I haven't noticed anyone offer the true and legal definition of 
"professional", as defined by the IRS: if you were paid to do it, received 
remuneration, did it for money.  It doesn't matter to them if you have an EE 
and 25 years experience, or 10 thumbs and 10 minutes experience, if you get 
some sort of compensation for doing it, you're a professional.  And that 
includes me:  I'm called on to do a lot of repairs on household and personal 
items I may well have never before seen in my life, yet, when I take money 
for fixin' on it, I'm a professional (no matter how well I may have 
performed - or not.)
