Mike and Mike,

The schematics and wiring diagram you are discussing all date from the new
manual done 08 March 1949. It almost looks like the master was broken and
put back together slightly skewed. So that the horizontal lines to the left
and right of the break don't quite touch and don't quite line up vertically.
I have an original of the 1949 AN 08-30ART13-4, and it has the problem.
But I can't prove it was printed in 1949. I can't find any print history
except on the revised title page. So my copy could be a reprint or it could be
an original original brought up to date with all of the Change packets.
But whenever it happened, when they revised and reissued the manual with a new
basic date of 30 March 1956, they didn't fix the C-drawings.

I also fixed the schematics and wiring diagrams in the two manuals. Which
did take a lot of work. First cutting the portion to the right of the
disjoint and rotating it slightly. Then pasting it up and to the left slightly.
As my TIF editor lacks any form of snap to point or snap to line, I had to
eyeball it and it probably took 6 or 8 tries before I finally decided I
couldn't tell that it had been done. Fortunately, the only differences between
the 1949 basic and the 1956 basic are Publication Numbers and page numbers.
So I didn't have to do everything twice.
