Are you referring to the WRR-3 band changer?  In mine, the band changer
works fine, but the tuning gear locks up, once in a while.

The only problem I have the WRR receivers is that kludge bandswitch system.
Those right-angle thingies are made of pot-metal, and they metal-fatigue 
and crack at the point where the compression nut clamps 
them to the shaft.  If you don't have one or three that are cracked, 
you will, sooner or later.
