Hi there. I have a Shakespeare 4242 MK-1 antenna that I believe is for
SINCGARS radios (ie PRC-25 etc). My understanding is that this is a
"broadband" antenna that does not require tuning for the range of singcars
(forget the exact range, but it covers 6m). I also believe this is a
vertical dipole. Can someone confirm?

The first mast section seems to have a "inside" conductor. Here is a photo.

However, the base does not seem to have a mating connector. Is it possible,
that the base and the mast are from different sets? Maybe they cannot work
together?

Also, does anyone know if there are any matching components or anything
inside the base? I was thinking of using the base to try to mount a
mast/whip for HF. Does anyone know if there are any low pass or baluns or
anything inside the base I should watch out for?

thanks
