Hi Gang:
Well on the SRR-13 I saw several of them at various Navel Reserve
Training Centers in the Philadelphia PA area back in the mid 1960 when I
was thinking of joining the Navy Reserve. (I joined the Air Guard / Air
Force Reserve served 41 years lifer retired) At the Phila. Navy Yard
There was always a load of SRR-11,12,13 at the surplus area. At
Bambridge MD Training Center there were also piles of SRR that had been
used by the students for training. (Very sad shape not even good for
parts?). I had my share of SRR 11 and 13 from the Navy MARS that I
repaired for others not to bad unless you don't have the jumper cable to
extend the unit.
What I do miss id the AN/FRR-59B I had was a great receiver after it
warmed up used it a lot (Gave it to another ham when I moved for helping
me out) Now I would love to have one again (Any laying around please
state condition and price with in 200 Miles of Wilmington DE for pick
up) Would also like to get a WRR-3 Any laying around please state
condition and price with in 200 Miles of Wilmington DE for pick up)
I work for a R&D Company Lew Malnak Assoc. Cherry Hill, NJ (1968 to
1972) we built a Automatic Guard Receiver Terminal (AGRT) AN/FRR-87
(XN-1) Anybody ever see or know about this system? It was used to listen
for a Emergency Transmittion from a sub? I installed one in the radio
room at Navel Station North West VA. this was in the room with a secret
receiver system to receive traffic from a sub. There system was a lot of
rack mount parts by Sylvania Electronics ( the training school was
Bambridge MD Training Center) any one ever work on either system? I
instructed a course on the FRR-87 for repair of the Receivers.
