Several years ago, a number of people popped up wanting an R-808 manual.  There never was one actually printed covering only the receiver (or for that matter, only AN/GRC-14).  The radio set is covered in NAVSHIPS 92911(A) on AN/MRC-55, which includes the necessary modifications to the V-35/U (Navy M38A-1).  The MRC-55 manual, in two volumes, is about 2" thick.  Since there were several wanting one, I scanned most of 92911(A) and extracted everything pertaining to the R-808 and built a manual on it.  It has 196 pages plus 14 foldouts, screwpost bound.  Cost of a copy is $30.60 plus shipping.  US domestic via Media Mail is $3.50.
