"I'll bet the final price will well exceed the starting bid, without any
decimal point shifts. (No one tests or operates an item like this.)"
I do. I have equipment going back to 1929 and other than scrap, it's all
usable as designed.
I am a collector of upper atmospheric research devices and as interesting as
it is, it is incomplete, probably doesn't work and is erroneously labeled.
No doubt some fools will jack up the price thinking this low grade entry
level radiosonde is part of some historical attack on our nation during
WWII, but even being an older Japanese model, the opening bid is about
double the value for the condition.
Speaking of such things, I am looking for an Ionosonde (balloon borne
ionizing radiation measuring device), NOT to be confused with Ionospheric
Sounder.
