[Milsurplus] WWII Japanese Radiosonde

The device shown on the eBay listing doesnt look like anything I recall having seen in photos of the FUGU incindiary balloons launched by Japan in WW2. The book Silent Siege has a lot of tech detail about the FUGU?weapons. They had ingenious control devices which could even drop ballast to maintain altitude in the jetstream. ?I'll look at the book again but I'd bet this is just a weather balloon radiosonde.
