[Milsurplus] AB-1371/G vehicle mount

    At the Aberdeen military rally this weekend I used the AB-1371/G mounted
on the rear of the vehicle on 40 and 80 meters. I removed the top section
and screwed in several sections of AB-21-22-23 etc (those copper  sections
with large threads) and obtained an overall length of 18 feet. The antenna
accepted RF readily and was easy to tune due to what I assume is a internal
voltage balun in the base of the antenna.
    It is my understanding that the AB-1371/G is a wideband system to cover
30 to 70 Mcs. The base  has a single BNC connector on the bottom and no
other controls.
     I have heard of others using this system with additional mast sections
on  80 and 40 meters but have never tried it till now.
    I will attempt a further analysis of the base with  the additional
sections  on HF using my antenna range (back yard) but for now I would
appreciate any tech data or specifications on this system.
