50s handbooks showed a product called a Waterman Pocketscope that looked
like an OS-8. Certainly a civilian thing & I've seen a copy or two @
fleabies over the years

The OS-8C here was from Jetronics Industries (who's he?) in Phila.
Lotsa bad electrolytics & bunch of leaky paper cap.s.... all of which had
purple bodies w. silver print & a wax sealant

OS-8 a cutie & exhibits well on a "have me shelf." But employ something
like a Heath HO-10 for use. HO-10 has trapezoid pattern for AM with
add'n of a 'gimmick cap.'
