Whoa! Wait a minute! You take away Kansas and you have a big hole in
center of the US!
Interesting read on Bletchley Part and the rebuild of the Colossus
compter. Can be found at their web www.tnmoc.org/UK/cipher/.htm info
about the Cipher Challenge held a couple years ago. Interesting that the
guy that won it was a German, Joachim Schueth, using a laptop and a
program he wrote himself. They sent three messages from a Lorenz SZ42,
Schlusselzusatz, to be decoded. Interesting the Enigma machine had 12
code wheels and reguired to be started at same point. The thing has
possibility of 16,033,955,073,056,318,658 starting points! Looks like US
deficit!
Another interesting article is about the SIGSALY, or "Green Hornet", a
secure speech system used in WWII by the Allied High Command. An exhibit
is on display at the US National Cryptologic Museum,
