Eugene--
I worked on several of these sets while in the Navy. This radio came
out in the early 70s, while the Navy was attempting to reduce the need
for skilled electronics technicians. As a result, the manual that
most of us saw was a large loose-leaf collection of flow charts held
together with snap rings. The flowcharts asked the technician a
series of questions and led him to which module needed to be replaced.
This manual had some bits and pieces of schematics, but, there was no
complete schematic of any of the modules.
I did, one time, see a regular depot level maintenance manual for the
URC-35. They are very rare.
The biggest problem the URC-35 had was the DC to DC converter. This
is a large module, located in the center of the AM-3007, and supplies
power to both the power amplifier and exciter units. When the correct
power supply was installed, the units were quite reliable.
Unfortunately, most of the units got a similar power supply from the
WRC-1 set. The Supply system had the WRC-1 power supply listed as a
suitable substitute, but, it was not. Also, the WRC-1 supply was
usually the only one the supply depot had in stock. You can identify
the wrong supply by large burned areas on the circuit boards.
As for the WRC-1, yes, the R-1051 and T-827 were units, as well as the
AM-3007, for the 100 Watt version. The URT-23 replaced the power
amplifier with a 1500 Watt unit.
Hope this helps.

Hello all,
I just acquired an RT-618A/URC and the AM-3007/URT with interconnecting
cables. I _believe_ this is called the URC-35. Is this correct?
I am looking for any and all documentation/manuals/websites that might
discuss these units. A google search turns up a few mentions but nothing
very substantive with respect to how they work.
Anyone know of a good source of manuals to these? I would guess that manuals
might exist for the two components separately, and perhaps a third manual
that discusses the two used together as a system.
I am also seeking the side-plates (stack mount side plates) to bolt them
together. Please contact me if you might have such a thing.
Last question. I've also been interested in the R-1051 and T-827 units. Can
anyone confirm that these were used together in the AN/WRC-1 system? I can
only find drawings (artist's rendition style) for the WRC-1 and not an
actual photo of a whole unit.
Many thanks!
