I have decided to sell my Chobham Navigator Mk.2 vehicle navigation system. This is a pre-satellite system working from fluxgate and odometer sensors, and was manufactured by Sperry and later marketed by BAe Systems. It is contemporary with British military vehicles of the Champ, Ferret, Stalwart and Saracen vintage and would obviously make an almost unique accessory to a restored example of one of these. It also appears to have been widely marketed in the Middle East, particularly for oilfield and pipeline construction projects. For those of you who read the UK military vehicle magazines, it is NOT the prototype unit which was shown filling the entire inside of an Austin Champ in an issue last year, but the production version which resulted from this project.

To avoid a long description on this Group, please mail me off-list for full details if you are interested, but please note that (1) it is not a complete system, I have only the computer/display unit and a mass of original manufacturer's documentation, (2) it is located in the UK, and is reasonably heavy, I would estimate about 15kg

best regards,

Bob
