As Miike said, it's a TCS accessory, for crew-served vehicles with interphone
systems. Used in LVT's (Alligator) that were equipped with the TCS. I've
supplied a couple for that purpose, one in an LVT-2 and I forget where the other
one went. But used by USMC. The somewhat similar RL-5, 6 & 7 were the
aircraft ones. There was also a CMX-50128A, almost identical. If the one you have
has a dynamotor on it, it must have been in service as for some strange
reason they didn't ship with the dynamotor. At first glance, they look like the
ARA or either of the RAT dynamotors would work but they don't because the pins
on the dynamotor plug on the back deck don't stick up high enough. And there
is a dynamotor that has been showing up on eBay for the past couple of years
that looks like it should fit but doesn't quite. Although I adapted two of the
amps to use them.
