Bob,
COL-52286 became T-47/ART-13 mainly by changing the nameplate. At the same
time or about the same time, the shock mount was changed from the twin rail to
the upper and lower sheet metal version. Around the time of the change, the
mechanical coupling in the antenna select vacuum switch actuator was changed.
And all of the T-47's I've had have the later version CFI (as do most
52286's). Otherwise the T-47 documentation works for the 52286.
If the generic manual that you have is for the AN/ART-13A, or AN/ART-13A and
AN/ART-13B, the T-47A has some differences that could cause confusion. The
manual you want to use (assuming you don't have the final ATC one) will say both
ATC and AN/ART-13. It may also say AN/ART-13A depending upon revision date.
The other possible confusion point is the LF oscillator. If your transmitter
has the blanking unit, no problem. If it has one that either has no
nomenclature or says on the side O-16/ART-13 you're OK. If it says O-17/ART-13A, it's
a different unit and may not match the manual that matches the transmitter.
I mention this because either one will work in all the transmitters except
T-412/ART-13B and the O-17 were far more plentiful and someone in the past may
have been hoping to get on 160 and bought and installed one of the O-17's.
