Ben,

In the actual AN/VRC-1 the BC-191 was on the passember side facing forward.  
The BC-312 was on a shelf on the drivers side (that's reference a LHD vehicle 
of course) facing forward.  The BD-77 sat under the BC-312.  The bulk of the 
VHF equipment was behind the HF components and accessible from behind the Jeep.
