Hi All and thanks for all the good info.Still,I am wondering how the
BC-348-Q or -R was modified?What was the connector on the front panel
for?What useful signal or control capability was added or tapped
off?Was the IF tapped for injection to some other gear like a panoramic
display?Audio and muting were available at the rear connector as well
as DC.So....?

I helped outfit this jeep many years ago. The group called themselves
"Mosquitoes" and were tasked with Forward Air Control and Observation
during the Korean conflict. They gave me a dandy book detailing their
exploits, which is around here somewhere. This one, with SCR-287,
is the "early" version. They also got the gear to outfit a "later"
version,
which used ART-13/BC-348/ARC-3. Cool stuff.
