I have many favorite ads... G&G Radio, Telemarine, etc. Among them are the
Esse Radio ads that showed what must have been Mr. Esse and his young son.
BC-222's for example for $34, a lot of money in those days. The best line
was always "Parts alone worth many times our low price!"

And of course, the conversion articles, that always seemed to start with.
"Remove and discard all parts except for the tube sockets."

"Convert this radar set to a home intercom!"
