Greetings All,
This is for our participants from the Netherlands mainly who may be
more familiar with this set, but of course anyone with info is welcome:
I got a nice GRC-3030 a few years ago and after initial tests I left
it as a future project. The problem was very low output, from the
transmitter, if I recall, it put out about 2 watts maximum.
I have all the manuals for it and also some restoration notes, so I'm
aware that they came "demilitarized" when they were sold to surplus,
and the output tank coils had to be reconstructed. The manuals and
some photos show an adjustable ferrite or iron core in these ceramic
coil forms.
In my unit, the output coils are there, on the ceramic coil forms, and
I checked the connections/number of windings and these are correct.
I think since there are no cores in mine, the inductance is low and
this is the reason that it's not loading to the correct output.
Does anyone have complete spare output coils (I understand that spare
coils were also available surplus) or just information about the core
material?
I'd like to put this nice set on the air.
Thanks,
