Yes; true. Nasa had to go, hat in hand, to other holders of copies, and
ask for copies of the copies. Why? NASA only had a limited number of
units of this particular tape type, and nobody thought to designate the
Apollo 11 landing videos as being of historic value. As a result, the
original, priceless video tapes of the landing were ... overwritten.
