[Milsurplus] German Command conversion

In those days in Germany when they applied for a license they would have to do a project as part of their application and technical proficiency as well as a written exam.  I believed at the time this was reworked as such a project by a German Ham. Yes the RCVR was bandspreaded to cover 1.5 to 2.1 MHz. and the XMTR was bandspreaded to cover 1.7 to 2.1 MHz.

Rich- do you mean the rig was calibrated for the actual 160m ham band?
Also the 2 rack mod to hold both transmitter and receiver was right out
of one of the conversion articles. I wonder why the use of such a low freq
for mobile communications. That does however comply with the pre-1945
German predilection for use of LF and MF for vehicle communications.
